Jan Harlan was born 1937 in Karlsruhe. He became Kubrick’s right-hand man after working on his unrealized NAPOLEON 1969 project. From BARRY LYNDON to EYES WIDE SHUT, Jan Harlan was the executive producer of all Stanley Kubrick’s films. Even after the director’s death in 1999, Harlan remained responsible for the production of his incomplete project Artificial Intelligence: A.I., which was realized by Steven Spielberg based on Kubrick’s original screenplay. Jan Harlan directed the documentary Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures and O Lucky Malcolm, a documentary about the life and career of Malcolm McDowell. He is currently the administrator of Kubrick’s cinematographic estate.
