Lorcan Finnegan

„I am very much interested in meeting like minded filmmakers to forge alliances and potentially coproduce films with.“

After completing a BA in graphic design in Dublin, Lorcan moved to London to work for Charlie Brooker's company Zeppotron as a motion designer, editor and later as a director. In 2004 Lorcan returned to Dublin to set up Lovely Productions with his wife Brunella Cocchiglia. Since then Lorcan has written and directed several award winning short films, TV commercials and music videos. In 2011, his completed his short film FOXES which won many international awards including an IFTA for best short film and screened in competition at SCSW, Tribeca and the London BFI. FOXES is a supernatural thriller – with the most distinguished and stunning aesthetics! – about a young couple trapped in a remote estate where they get caught up in a paranormal twilight world – or perhaps insanity. Lorcan recently completed his debut feature WITHOUT NAME, another beautiful supernatural drama. It was funded under the Catalyst Project, a competitive scheme set up by the Irish Film Board, and will premiere at TIFF in September, followed by London BFI and Sitges in October. He is currently collaborating with writer Garret Shanley (FOXES/WITHOUT NAME) on the feature VIVARIUM, a sci –fi horror film that has been developed with the support of Film4 and the Irish Film Baord. Shooting is planned for early 2017. Lorcan and Garret also collaborate on three other feature projects: the dystopian tragedy GOLIATH, supernatural thriller NOCEBO and time bending PRECIPICE. Lovely Productions is set upon developing and producing original features – we hope to see them continue to flourish in this world of never-ending franchises!

FOXES will participate in this year’s ZFF MASTER CLASS screenings.
